If you've come to burn a flag, you've come to the right place. Flag-burning without repercussion is our specialty. So, if you come from a country where freedom of speech isn't policy, or flag-burning isn't considered freedom of speech, burn away. If you come from a country where flag burning is a protected freedom, burn your flags here to avoid those nasty arson and public disturbance laws!

After all, at the end of the day, it's just a bunch of pixels, right?

Stats Reset

Soon, I’ll be resetting the stats so we can have a fresh start on flag burning. I should have done it on our 1 year anniversary…but I missed it. ;)

By the way, we’re a year and a month old!

I’m sure someone was looking for this…

I was looking through my server logs and found a 404 for nazi.gif. How could I have missed that flag?!

Missing from the site for nearly a year, here it is in all of it’s (un)gloriousness.

Burn the Nazi flag now!

So anyway…

I was thinking to myself a bit and it struck me. Most people don’t come here to see me talking, they come here looking to burn flags, virtual as they might be. I’m not a blogger, don’t like blathering on about BS, and in fact, I simply hate the word blog. Whoever thought that writing stuff on a website needed a special name was only half there anyway.

So, to turn over a new leaf, there will be no more bungled posts here on the front page. You, the viewers, can decided which flags to burn, and why, at your own leisure. If you don’t like this change, feel free to burn burntflag.com’s flag in protest! After all, I can do whatever I want with my flag burning website…I do claim certain liberties for being the first, you know! :)

Okay, so I broke the site…

I broke the site in a big way in the move…the r-tards from micfo screwed me over yet again.

Stylesheets on the wordpress backend are apparently not working. Permalinks on the non-wordpess frontend are not working.

Have an inkling that it’s the hardened php install that’s doing it to me, but not sure…I’ll keep on checking!

Update: I at least partially fixed the style sheet problem…one bit down, more to go.

Update 2: A little closer to being fixed…permalinks now work again (and my little rudimentary .htaccess hacker blocker).  Now to fix the rest of the CSS problems!

I’m not much of a Catholic fan either, but…

From an article here:

Careful to say these words were not his own, the pope went to on say that this emperor of Byzantium, Manuel II Paleologus, with “startling brusqueness,” also said: “Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

Reminiscent of the violent worldwide reaction by many Muslims to the publication of Danish cartoons that associated Muhammad with violence, more widespread violence erupted in reaction to Benedict’s remarks.

Several Christian churches were attacked by Palestinians angry over the pope’s remarks. The pope was burned in effigy in India. A Muslim cleric in Somalia called on his followers to hunt down and kill the pope. He said anyone who offends Muhammad should be “killed on the spot.” Shortly thereafter, an elderly nun was gunned down in a children’s hospital.

When Salman Rushdie published Satanic Verses, Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini called on Muslims to kill the author. The cleric even put a bounty on Rushdie’s head.

Score one dead nun and another huge drop in public opinion for the Muslim faith! Way to go!

How could they not see that they are just proving the pope’s quote, over and over? “You said we’re evil and inhuman, so we’ll kill some people just to prove we really just want to be friends!”

Frankly, I’m convinced that these radical Muslim idiots have somehow found a benefit to being nuked into an extremely large sheet of glass… perhaps they realize that the environmental implications of having a reflective surface of that size upon the Earth will destroy western civilization too, and thus, it is just another (huge scale!) suicide attack?

As you can see, the United States is far and away the most burned flag, holding 28% of the top 10 burns…yet just 9% of all burns. What is interesting is that the Hezbollah flag was only put on the site on July 19, but has already accumulated 1360 burns. If prorated out to the length of time that the rest of these countries have been on the site, the Hezbollah flag would have been burned an astonishing 7175 times! Israel, to compare and contrast, fell into 13th place having only 310 burns.

The least burned flag on the site was of the Falkland Islands having only 4 burns during this time period. I suppose they’re too small for anyone to hold a grudge against them?

INCOMING: Animated Flag-Burning GIF images

Soon, I will be rolling out an animated GIF image of each flag burning. They should be of decent quality, though a tad smaller than the Java applets to save on bandwidth. They will be watermarked, though!
This should satisfy some of the requests…

Rendering Issues within IE

In my tinkering, I caused some CSS rendering issues within IE and perhaps old versions of FireFox. Content is still readable…but if you’re still using that kludge of a browser, perhaps it is time to upgrade?
One of these days, I’ll fix it up though…

Now Pakistan?

Stumbled across this post from aegis_one earlier: A frightening report written by another retired Pakistani military officer, Maj. Tahir Ahmad, appeared in the Pakistani newspaper Khabrain and suggested that the Muslim nation might use its nuclear capability to attack Israel:

“What could Lebanon or Hezbollah do against such awesome firepower? God had blessed Pakistan with nuclear capability; therefore, it should play a part in defending the Muslim world. Hezbollah’s and Iran’s leaderships were bold, but they were unable to respond to the attacks of a nuclear Israel. However, by the grace of God, if Pakistan made bold decisions, it could defeat Israel.”

Can you imagine if more of these militant-minded Islamic countries had nuclear capabilities? It’s no doubt they’d rig up some sort of shoulder-launched nuclear contraption–or maybe they’d just hide the warheads in various animal corpses alongside roads. Thankfully that military officer is retired and not making decisions anymore!

He Did What?

From a post on freerepublic.com: Iranian hatemonger/Prime Minister Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sparked fury yesterday by flying Hezbollah’s flag in his parliament building.

Don’t believe I missed this one! This guy is on the verge of becoming next on the list to being at the receiving end of an American Marine’s boot, and he’s pushing buttons? Just doesn’t make sense.

In other news, France is trying to negotiate peace between Hezbollah/Lebanon and Israel…or as I interpret it, trying to dictate who surrenders to who. But that’s a story for another day…

Please note: I in no way endorse burning real flags (because of the fragile nature of our environment, I can only endorse "burning" pixels!), arson (I only endorse "burning" pixels you own), or any other anti-<insert-your-favorite-country> activities (I only endorse pro-<insert-your-favorite-country> activities) that may or may not be depicted on this website (since the website doesn't favor "burning" one bunch of pixels over another, it might be considered anti-world, but I'm not from another galaxy so nevermind that).
